Dear fellow colleagues, lets fight this outbreak together :) ........................ Seen today at Alexishafen Health Centre. M/20. 1/52 hx of intermit febrile episodes, bilat. conjunctivitis, minimal unprod. coughing. Onset of descending maculopapular rash x 5/7 ago. Noted whitish sores (koplik spots) on gingiva 2-3/7 ago. Nil knowledge of immunisation hx, unremarkable travel hx, nil similar symptoms noted in close contacts. Presented this mane (30/06/14) ex Karkar Island, Madang Province. PDx: Measles Rx: 1). Informed patient + guardian of PDx & intended action. 2). Isolated from other ptxs in OPD. 3). Symptomatic treatment commenced. 4). Informed PDCO & his team at PHO for further evaluation (Hx,Ex, Inx) and Mx coordination as per provincial instruction. (Patient consent granted)
