Dear friends, My friend, amazing poet and longtime Girlyman supporter Heather Askeland, is suffering from severe Lymes disease and is in a life-or-death situation. I got to know Heather years ago when she used to sell CDs for Girlyman, and was always struck by her gentleness and sincerity. I looked forward to chatting with her after shows. Shes now fighting for her life, and desperately needs help. Heathers mother, her only family and form of financial support, passed away recently, and Heather is now disabled and homeless. It is unacceptable to me that this beautiful soul is struggling to stay alive right now with no caretaker and nowhere to live. The fundraiser below is her only source of income.
