Dear friends, Well 2014 has been quite the year. In this - TopicsExpress

Dear friends, Well 2014 has been quite the year. In this year alone I have had the opportunity to meet so many incredible people throughout the 22nd Congressional District, as well as a cross New York State. It has been an exhilarating experience to meet so many dedicated people, committed to improving our nation and our State. In 2014, I started the year as an announced candidate for the congressional seat. My challenge to incumbent Richard Hanna was seen as unlikely at the start of the year. But it was with your support, and our combined efforts, that we were able to elevate the race to a level that caught national attention. Indeed, I was told that more than a few people in Congress and DC were watching intently on how the race would progress. Ultimately I withdrew from the race, to place my support behind Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney. Her ability to raise more funds, and especially the similarity of political views motivated me to step aside in the best interest of our District, State, and nation. The battle for the Republican ticket was a close fought one, highlighting the concerns that I brought up in my effort and continued by Assemblywoman Tenney. A mere 1500 votes decided the race, with Broome (my home County) aligning with Assemblywoman Tenney. Sadly we were not able to victorious in June, but have no doubt that a message was sent. From across the District, a clear statement about what we expect and demand from our elected representative in Congress was made. Only time will tell how well the incumbent understood the message. But the voice of the people was heard with clarity. That was due to your efforts, and I thank you again for that. On a personal level, 2014 was a year of growth. I learned the challenges facing those, without immense wealth, who would shake the status quo. I confirmed my fortitude in standing up for the beliefs I hold dear, even with a cost on personal and financial levels for that commitment. I found strength in those across the State that shared my convictions, and learned that as much as the major media might want us to believe otherwise, we are not alone in what we want from our politicians and government. I also found out that running for Congress takes a massive toll on the body. I suffered a cold for the month of June. I had to take time away from my political commentary to regain my strength and refocus my efforts. As a result, I spent the rest of the year working a bit more slowly than in past years on the political commentary, but by no means has my voice stopped being heard. I published an additional 100 or so articles, and appeared on WUTQ several times after the primary. I look forward to continuing these media outlets in 2015 as well. For 2015 I look forward to working with all those that supported me in my run for office. I will continue to try to advance our Conservative and Republican values. I will seek out new opportunities to help expand our views to those that have felt abandoned by politicians and the current system of government. I will try my best to let the public know that they too are not alone in what they believe, and that the major media is wrong to make they feel such. Already I have been in touch with some about trying to organize an event for February. A rib dinner fundraising event for the spring/summer is another idea. I look forward to any suggestions you may have for these or other ideas. Of course I will continue with my political commentary at mvass and Binghamton Political Buzz Examiner. Going into my 9th year, I plan to recapture the momentum that was lost when I had to put my sites on hiatus for the run for office. I also plan to expand the services at M V Consulting, Inc., incorporating more of the political experiences I have gained into the services offered. For all of these reasons I want to thank you for a 2014 that was an exceptional year. It is because of all these things that I look forward to a 2015 that will be even more prosperous and beneficial. With your continued support, we all will move forward into a new and better year as people, a State, and a nation. Sincerely Michael Vass Vasquez President - M V Consulting, Inc
