Dear friends, family, followers, prayer warriors, all who are speaking up for voiceless children, I, Melissa Swetnam, Jocelyns mother, need some suggestions on how to influence the sentencing judge. Im considering writing a letter as an impact statement but Im not sure where to begin. Currently Im unsure if speaking is permitted at the hearing, waiting to hear back from my lawyer. What are your genuine thoughts on this specific matter and have any of you done this. Obviously Im speaking from my heart but, I am not wanting to go on about what had happened to Jocelyn, because we are all aware of why we are here, but more interested in writing about how these events have created a nightmare for me and Jocelyns 3 surviving siblings, countless therapy sessions for myself, for themselves, and all of us together. I went a through tremendous ordeal with children services I had to attend parenting classes, domestic violence education, and other various means to prove my devotion to my children and acknowledging the extent of what lead up to where we are. There has been many court dates surrounding Daniel and Jocelyns case, as well as court hearings that are related to my other children, who are in temporary custody until Daniel Hall Jr is incarcerated. Yes, I take responsibility for myself and myself only. I dont want negative feedback, so please refrain. The administrators of this page, or myself will remove it. Im responsible for making poor choices in men, and for trusting people more then I should. I used to think speaking up to people who do wrong or say things was how to handle situations, but Ive learned to remove people upon their first offense, verbal warnings only lead you to believe you took care of an issue. Assuming and preventing a possibility are two different things. I never imagined that I would be a parent of four children, much less become a mother to 3 children and and murdered child. So Im asking for assistance on making an impact statement on Daniel Halls sentence tomorrow. Please share or comment, or even send me a message. Missy dismissed
