Dear friends, some of you might know Alonso del Rio.. He has been - TopicsExpress

Dear friends, some of you might know Alonso del Rio.. He has been tirelessly running an incredible free elementary school for the last 15 years in the Sacred Valley of the Peruvian Andes. The future of this school is very much in jeopardy, and I am trying my hardest to do what I can to help it to survive (and even thrive!) You may know of Alonso del Rio for his work as a Peruvian medicine man, or more likely, for his songs which are lovingly sung in circles all over the world. Alonso micro-manages all the affairs of this school with his wife Waldi. The school is completely not for profit. In fact, he not only does not earn money, he invests most of the money he receives for his own work to fund the school. It is a Waldorf inspired school that offers a FREE education AND nutritious meals to over 80 Indigenous and rural mestizo children (and growing). The intention is not only to take great care of these children, but to ensure that this incredibly rich Indigenous legacy; their values (especially their reverence for Mother Earth as a living Being), the plant knowledge, music, dance, textiles, pottery, etc... is preserved and incorporated in our modern society for the benefit of all humanity. You can see a short video about the project here: https://youtube/watch… The Peruvian government offers no support at all. Until recently, the school was largely dependent on the large annual donations of a few wealthy sponsors, but several major donors have recently run into hard times and can no longer afford this responsibility. As a result, the capacity of the school to continue to operate and better yet, to expand and evolve to serve even more children at an even higher level, is now in question. If you could see the difference between the glowing, smiling children at Winaypaq in contrast to the somber, uniformed, mainstream-history brainwashed children at the government schools (think of the “Another Brick in the Wall” scene of students marching for the meat grinder)…it would break your heart. Your simple act of kindness can make such a huge difference in the lives of many children and their communities. You can also support by sending this message to friends who may be interested, posting the Indiegogo link with a message on your FB page, and by simply “liking” my own posts on the campaign to help it get priority coverage. 100% of donations after Indiegogo fees goes straight to the project. Here is the link for the Indiegogo campaign: indiegogo/…/viva-winaypaq-support-a-progr…/x/9007126 It is NOTHING even about Alonso del Rio, it is all about these children and the future of the Andean Indigenous legacy. Thank you and infinite blessings! And thank you Sangit Pathik for writing this post ! Viva WINAYPAQ! Support a Progressive Andean School indiegogo
