Dec. 10th was International Human Rights Day. Congrats to our colleagues at the EU on a successful press conference and reception! EU Delegation together with British, French and German Embassies in Vientiane organized in Vientiane the celebration of Human Right Day. The Ambassadors took the stage and urged the Government of Laos to make considerable measures to ensure the protection and Human Rights. Speaking at the press conference, European Ambassador said, There is much to celebrate as we mark the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child this year, from declining infant mortality to rising school enrolment, but we should not forget that many children still do not enjoy their full rights. This is true all over the world. The Convention gives individual human rights to our children, even if they are too young to realize this. It is our duty to ensure their rights. The occasion was also used to announce the EU Drawing Competition on the theme Rights of Child to mark 25th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of Child. The winning drawings will be made into a calendar. Watch out for it in the coming months!
