December is Manage Stress Month: Many of us know that managing the demands of daily life such as balancing family and work can create stress. While some degree of challenge is beneficial, research has shown that long-term stress can actually change your genes, leading to an increase in inflammation that can bring on a variety of health issues. Our bodies will give us a waming when we have too much stress-some signs may be: • Difficulty concentrating • feelings of worry or fear • muscle tension • fatigue • irritability Ways to manage stress • Physical activity-get some fresh air The vitamin D boost from sunlight may elevate your levels of feel-good serotonin.
