Decided after a long winter it was time to visit my mom and sister - TopicsExpress

Decided after a long winter it was time to visit my mom and sister at Queen of Heaven Cemetery today with my daughters. I miss them both beyond words. Something told me to go to the chapel and look up my Grandma Roses (my moms mom), resting place. I have always wanted to know. We drove over to Mt. Carmel and I found a worker to help me. He went to the office to get a map and came back with another guy, who knows the cemetery very well. We followed them and then he took me right to my grandmothers grave! Not only was it her resting place, but my Uncle Ralph. He joined the army and died in WW2, age 30. My Grandmother Rose was born in 1893, died at age 49, in 1945. She lost 2 sons during WW2. It was a very overwhelming moment finding this resting place of my grandmother and uncle. I had sad tears and tears of relief. Like finding a piece to the family genealogy puzzle. I will return with flowers as soon as it warms up a little out there. When I visited Hawaii in the late 80s, I was on a tour of Punchbowl Cemetery. The bus driver allowed me to go to the office to see if I can locate my moms other brother who was killed in action in Okinawa, sure enough, they had everything! The people on the tour bus even asked the driver to take me to my uncles resting place, he was so kind to do that. My mother did not like to fly - she had piece of mind knowing that her brother was in a beautiful resting place for the military. Words cannot describe these when these moments happen. I had to share this.
