Decided to put up a tree. The boys helped pick out stuff today. The year Scotty died, I already had my tree up. The week of his funeral, every day a strand of lights would go out on the pre-lit tree. The first strand, I bought some clear lights to fix it. After lights kept going out, I bought a new tree and put colored lights to totally change up what I had up before Scottys death. So stupid to worry about a tree being up when I just had my world turned upside down, but I kept hearing him say that there had to be a tree for the grandkids. I have not gone back to clear lights, and may never have a desire to have them again. However, George and I bought a lot of beautiful Lenox glass ornaments last year, and we have been changing out the ornaments we previously used. After 38 years, and 41 years, we probably needed new ornaments that are ours. And for the really sad post tonight, Dusty is not doing well at all. Im afraid he will not be with us for the holidays. Hes one big, handsome Golden that has lived a good, full life. Hes always lived inside, gone on every trip, went tubing and swimming. Hes never known abuse or neglect...and thats a good life. It has taken a lot of time the past 2-3 days to care for him. Of course, SP and Jazz are my babies, but George says I stole Dusty from him. He has been my buddy, and I hate to seem him in this shape.
