Deer Antler Artifacts The Ft Ancient cultures used Deer Antler for several different items, like Arrowpoints, Flakers, and Pendants to name some. The first few pictures are of Arrowpoints and Flakers. 95% of these have been drilled out to be attached to a shaft. Others have tips at the base that may have been put in a socket. The long cylindrical pieces are called Antler Drifts and were thought to be gaming pieces for years, but the thought now is they were used in the knapping process. The last three pictures are of a Pendant a buddy of mine found made from diseased Antler that will form these bulges. It was drilled out, two holes drilled for suspension, and a mouth cut into it. It doesnt show in the pics but there faint eyes and feathers on the sides so we thing it represents a Goose. All of these are personal finds except for the Pendant.
