Defunding the Private Option will have devastating consequences. Arkansas adoption of it was unique, and now it is the Law. The defunding of it will not remove the Law. No other State has the Private Option. To specifically deny coverage to about a quarter of a million Arkies, we are going to have to come up with $89 million dollars virtually overnight. Never mind that we actually paid in taxes for this coverage already. It is going to cost us $89 million to deny using our own tax dollars to pay for it. THAT DOESNT COUNT WHAT IT WILL COST IN PREMIUMS COMING OUT THE GATE. So, the lot of you will have to pay more in taxes, and more in insurance premiums, and more in copays, specifically so you can deny health coverage to your neighbors.
