Delivery Driver (Transportation / Shipping) FedEx Ground, a leading North American provider of ground small-package delivery services, providing service to the U.S. and Canada. We are currently looking for a Delivery Driver to drive a light vehicle, such as a truck or van, to primarily deliver or pick up merchandise or to deliver packages. You may also load and unload vehicle. Delivery Driver (Transportation / Shipping) Job Responsibilities As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for driving a light truck or van to deliver or pick up merchandise or deliver packages. You will inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. You will report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. You will present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded. You will load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles as well as verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers. Additional responsibilities include: Submitting receipts and money received from deliveries Maintaining records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations Reading maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions Reporting delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios JOB REQUIREMENTS Delivery Driver (Transportation / Shipping) As a Delivery Driver, you must have at least 1 year of commercial driving experience within the last 3 years. We are looking for a professional driver with a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record. You must also have excellent customer services skills. Additional requirements include: High School diploma or some college Must be a minimum of 21 years of age Effective communication skills both written and verbal Basic Computer skills Strong time management and organizational skills Must be able to clear a drug test and criminal background check
