Delta Airlines appears to be run by a politician. First, they are highly distrusted by their constituents. My husband and I (against our better judgement) were talked into checking our bags in West Palm Beach. Why were talked into it? Everyone in line was clinging to their carry-ons (including us) & only because they promised not to charge us and we were on our way home did we finally consent. Second, they make promises they cant keep. They promised not to lose our bags and that everything would be waiting for us in Manchester. Third, nothing gets done in the time frame it should. Our plane sat on the runway for over an hour. Fourth, theres a total disconnect from the public. At our connection in Atlanta 10 of us had to talk a rude attendant out of calling the police on an innocent man who had left his suitcase to go find a manager. He had gone to find a manager because they had closed our connecting flight 10 minutes early while the plane sat at the gate. This, of course, left 10 of us stranded unable to make our connection! While 6 of us begged and pleaded with the woman to open the door, not call the police, and just let us in, she flat out refused & started spouting about 9/11 & terrorists. (Lady, Im trying to get home. Why dont you guys just open a door, find a missing airplane, & give me back my unopened bottle of Evian that the TSA deemed dangerous?) Finally, Mark (who is the best travel partner EVAH) talked a harried looking manager into letting us on board versus finding 7 different hotel rooms. So, of course, we were not surprised when we arrived and the bags did not. Lastly, both Delta & politicians make everything more complicated, expensive, & elusive than it needs to be. Today, Mark decided to see how our bags were coming along. After all, we were again promised a 24 hour return. As of now, they have been in West Palm Beach, Atlanta, Baltimore, DETROIT! And are now supposedly on their way to Manchester. Seriously? Seriously!!!!! Dumb. Just dumb.
