Democracy in Nigeria could remain in declining state or increasingly subject to demagoguery unless the people are attune to political events. We the people, can compel government to be responsive only if we are ready to increase audience cost on politicians. But how? ... First, the people must value their positive freedom (electoral right as priceless.- No amount of offered cash can take it away from you). Second, the people must be attuned to happenings within the political institutions - this is where print media is valuable . Third, the people should be ready to punish irresponsive politicians that appeal only to our passion and prejudices with their positive freedom (vote) . Fourth, the people must form what international liberals called audience cost alliances or coalition that will rule majority opinion in the polity. All this factors are possible only if the first( positive freedomm ) is sacred. Republican - Government by the people is not government by corrupted elite. Let stop complaining and let us use our priceless freedom to punish anathema leaders...(Eg River state house of assembly members) . I know without an unbiased umpire ..INEC ..THE ABOVE CANNOT BE ACHIEVE . This is what i will term Nigeria situation dilemma . To improve this dilemma, some has suggested revolution ( not me , I am not a revolutionist) But revolution can be the panacea in nigeria situation ...( just my opinion ) thanks
