Department: Race Department Position: Timing Technician - Race Department Number of Positions: 2 Full Time Wage: Discuss at interview Status: Seasonal Description: Sets up and tears down timing equipment for a variety of race events, runs the equipment and times the actual events. Is responsible for the accuracy and precision of all timing data. Produces timing reports and results for all USSA/FIS sanctioned events Maintains and fixes all types timing equipment and the wiring system. Assists in all other aspects of event/race production as needed, setting up gates, banners, removes any obstacles during the event. Tears down gates, fencing, signage etc. as required at the close of the day or the end of race events. On the job training and supervision by a very experienced timing technician will be provided and is part of the job. NOTE: this is a WINTER SEASONAL opportunity for a multi-season, career-minded candidate. Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent experience. Computer literate, highly organized, accurate, precision and a strong math background a must. Ability to effectively communicate with race officials, coaching staff and racers. Knowledge of Split Second Timing programs, race procedures and regulations and experience in this field. Good skiing or snowboarding skills required. Ability to do general repairs on timing equipment and an electronics background strongly desirable. Snowmobile experience preferred. USSA officials license. Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
