Derby Jamia masjid mosque committee refused to allow the family of Kabir Ahmed to perform Matham - (mourning) of Kabir Ahmed - at the masjid - This in affect is a Tazeer on the family in my opinion - What do you guys think ? - My reasoning is :- 1. He is British citizen 2. He is Muslim 3. He was a part of this community 4. The police and immigration would allow his body back to the UK for burial in the event his family asked for it. ( admittedly that will not be the case in this instance) 5. The Police received confirmation of the death and informed his family. 6. There is no law prohibiting the family from mourning in a masjid 7. All are allowed prayers and blessing to be sent to them after their death 8. The mosque committee is outside its remits by refusing to allow the mourning to take place 9. They can refuse to do janaazah - if they so wish - even then I would believe its outside their remit. 10. The mosque committee is doing the dirty work of the anti terrorism units and the media 11. There are no ground whatsoever legally or islamically where the whole community is allowed to mourn their dead in a masjid, yet here you turn this family away.. 12. How can the mosque committee justify this decision - other than bad publicity 13. those very people who are sitting at this mourning ( at some house in derby ) are ex councillors - current councillors - ex mayors and current mayors of derby within this family - 14. The family have been targeted by not allowing them to mourn at their local masjid - why ?? 15. are you claiming that the family encouraged him to do it ? I want to know on what grounds this decision was made and how are they justifying their decision ???
