“Despair of a Nation” Where Where Uganda Where are they Where are they my people Where are the men and women of valour, imitate, vigor Where Where are the nation’s strengths Those that are reasons for courage, faith, invour, flames of inspiration, models of humanity Where Oh Where are they A nation that rulers are foolery, Preachers are pickers, Kings are pings, Pastors are poachers, Friends are fends, Wives are wolves, Men are mean, Leaders are lingers, Tribes are trends, Teaching is teasing, Learning is alarming Where Where Uganda Where are they Where, A nation that hospitals have replaced churches in prayers, Lodges replaced homes, Supermarkets have replaced markets, Bulbs replaced lamps, Foods fried, Women dress half naked, Taxation imposed on water, salt, firewood, Protocol and bureaucracy dictated up to bedding room Where Where Uganda Where are they The men that history is afraid of, Sunshine humbles at their sight, Moon submits to, The rain listens to, Where are they Uganda Those that talks to people, Those that listens, Those that breaks that wall for the plight of the poor, Those that truly eats with the angry, Those that do not argue but discuss and debate, Those that humble with humility without arrogance Where are they Those that submits to guilt and admits criticism Where Where Uganda Where are they The people that history captures amongst the many, The outstanding and just Where Where are they Those that can fast in order to provide to the angry, Those that can afford to wash clothes and empty wardrobes so that many can wear, Those that when pinched feels the pinch When slapped turns the other chick When cut, its blood that pours Those that prefers insignificance at loneliness than popularity with shame Where Where Uganda Where are they, Those that when heard speaking restores hope, and Instills trust Where Where Uganda Where are they Those that commands mountains to move Those that genuinely without publication defends a nation to the latter Where are they Those that without hatred commands change Without hypocrisy the tongue slips not Where Where Where Uganda Where are they Where my people
