Despite a disappointing Monaco GP, Lotus F1® Team driver Pastor - TopicsExpress

Despite a disappointing Monaco GP, Lotus F1® Team driver Pastor Maldonado was still the envy of the paddock when he took delivery of his brand new Lotus Evora S. As we know you are a big Lotus fan how do you feel having a new Evora? For sure it’s a very great thing. In the past I have been very passionate about Lotus, the heritage and the history of Lotus in motorsport. I love Lotus’ it’s a super sporty, low, lightweight car, it’s like a racing car, the balance is absolutely good. I really enjoyed the car. I first drove the Lotus Evora S in Jerez earlier this year, and for me it was a super good experience. What made you choose the Evora S over other Lotus’? The Evora looks just like a GT car, wide, big, and I liked that about it. I did consider an Exige but maybe it’s a bit small for me, although I like that too. I love the way Lotus build its chassis with aluminium, they are lightweight, Lotus always stays true to itself, is at the top of its engineering. It’s interesting to see how you were in the past and now how you have evolved, the cars you know are Lotus. Who inspired you to become a F1 driver? Ayrton Senna was a huge influence. When I started racing in 1993 Senna was already a huge legend in formula one, for sure. After he died he became a big hero for all the kids and all the Formula one fans, and I was one of them. Of all the Lotus drivers in the past, he is my favourite. Press release: tinyurl/ot66ygw
