Despite beginning the year with a record stockpile of road salt, this year’s winter storm activity has already reduced the Village’s salt reserves more than whole normal season of activity. Many other communities have also diminished their reserves. At this point there is a salt shortage in our region. Therefore, the Village has begun reducing its salt usage during snow events focusing on hills, curves and intersections. Please use caution when driving in winter conditions.
