Despite having a great line-ups of stars in the movie, The Monkey King is plainly an eye-sore for the movie lovers! I cant believe I was greeted with CGI effects which are equivalent to Super Nintendo era via this so-called grand production. If not because of Donnie Yens performance as the Sun Wukong..(which is unexpectedly good)..and the great cast lineups plus the CNY feel a little.. I think we can unhesitantly dump the film strips into rubbish bin...or rate it as a C grade Kids TV program... Verdict: Barely passable (5.0/10) Advice: I guess there are better CNY movie choices out there..at least, I have watched The Journey..and that local production is far more better than this international flick..
