Despite the highs of today, there was a more serious point as clubs across the county came together ina minutes silence before the games to celebrate the life of Gosford All Blacks player, Stephen the prince Edwards. Stephen tragically lost his life in his native Bermuda on New Years Eve and everyone at Wheatley would like to extend our thoughts and sympathies to everyone at Gosford, his friends and his family. Whilst we only had to pleasure to grace the field with him twice, everyone at Wheatley will remember him for what he did best, scoring tries, having crossed the whitewash in last years final against us and scaring his opposite number every time he had the ball! Today was also particularly poignant for ourselves, as we commemorated the lose of club legend Jason Laman, who tragically lost his life playing the game he loved this time two years ago. Whilst we will never ever forget or recover from the loss of Jason, his death has resulted in us growing closer and stronger as a club, playing with his name on our sleeves and using his life as a constant inspiration in everything we do, recently resulting in the installation of a community defibrillator in the club. We will hope Gosford All Blacks will do the same and will support them in honouring The Princes life. #rugbyfamily #JL10
