Despite the impending end to the current fiscal crisis in Washington, we only have to look forward to January and February for this fight to begin all over again. Democrats have agreed to new deficit reduction talks, but where is there common ground? Will the GOP agree to cut the $700+ billion/year Pentagon budget? Will they agree to any changes in the tax code other than cuts? Or will they simply insist on cutting health care and retirement programs for seniors? Some may think we can breathe a sigh of relief, but its actually just catching our breath for the next round of Republican stupidity.
