Deuteronomy 12:1-4 says: These are the statutes and judgments which you shall be careful to observe in the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. You shall not worship the LORD your God with such things. This is where the worship of many is corrupted. It isnt that they worship too little; they worship too much. They worship the LORD, and the things of the world. God doesnt want such worship. It is an abomination to Him. Many could really begin to worship God in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24), if they would only destroy in their hearts their pagan places of worship. Because they give their hearts to so many other things, there is little to give to the LORD. This is a principle the worlds worship must be removed. Clear it out, clean it up, take it all to the dump or the burn pile. See ye first the kingdom! IJS
