Devil is cunning, when he realised that he cannot stop Goans from reciting the Rosary, he changed the words of the Traditional Our Father and Hail Mary in the Holy Rosary. The original words of the Hail Mary in Konkani, i.e. Noman Moriê, kurpen bhorlele, Dhoni Dev Tujê thaim assa, / ostoream bhitor Tum Sodovi ani Sodoiv foll Tujê kuxichem, JESU. Compare them with the new Hail Mary, i.e. Noman Moriê, kurpen bhorlele, Sorvespor Tujê thaim assa/ostoream bhitor Tum Sodovi ani Sodoiv Tujo put, Jesu. The Hail Mary words are taken from the Bible (Luke1: 28-42), you can’t change them as you want. These new words are an insult to Jesus & Mary. Jesus was the “Fruit” of Our Lady’s Purity, he was born without any physical contact between male & female, like a fruit on a tree, whereas ‘Put’ (i.e. a ‘Son’ in Konkani) is born to all women through physical contact. Thus when we recite the new Hail Mary, we deny the Dogma of Her Perpetual Virginity which means we don’t believe in the virgin birth of Jesus. Also the origin of the word Sorvespor is not clear.
