Diane Black - Earlier this summer I told you about President Obama’s Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) changing the title of its “public advocate” for illegal immigration to circumvent the will of Congress after I wrote and successfully passed into law legislation to DEFUND this ill-conceived position. My office has continued our investigation into this power grab over the past month and just yesterday I sent the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security a formal letter demanding answers as to when and why this new position was created. The bottom line is taxpayer dollars should not be used to lobby on behalf of those who broke the law to enter this country. If the Obama administration has not acted in good faith to comply with the law, it MUST be held accountable.
