Diane and I had an opportunity yesterday to see Thor: The Dark World. This Thor simply is not as good as the first one. It is noisier--the better to destroy ones hearing. Also, it is confusing--often losing viewers in battles that do not seem to have any relevance. Purportedly, Thor(Chris Hemsworth) and Jane Foster(Natalie Portman) are trying to prevent destruction of nine planets including Asgard and Earth by Malekith(Christopher Eccleston). The next Marvel movie is previewed after the credits. If moviegoers are looking for excellent acting--please see Blue Jasmine, Dallas Buyers Club, Twelve Years a Slave, All Is Lost, and/or Saving Mr. Banks.
