Did I have a productive day yesterday? I dont know. I had a day off. I pootled around on the bus a bit, staring blankly out of the window, I nosed around a few towns I hadnt visited before, I completely failed to buy any skin tight polo neck sweaters, and I never even opened the new notepad in my pocket. This morning I hurled myself out of the house, scrambled onto a bus in the nick of time, and couldnt wait to get that notepad out, because it all made such glorious sense. He doesnt need to say any of that there; he can say that there and that there, and talk about that from a rather different angle much later on, and as for that bit . . . he really hasnt any business commenting on that at all, it clearly belongs to a different narrator. So, yeah, yesterday may well have been more productive than I thought.
