Did I hear the Sole Commissioner of Judgement Debts had advised - TopicsExpress

Did I hear the Sole Commissioner of Judgement Debts had advised government not to pay striking Polytechnic Teachers? Is this also part of his terms of reference? I am not a Lawyer, but I thought the law is very clear on this. Section 168(4) of the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) states that ... a worker who takes part in an illegal strike may have his or her services terminated by the employer without notice for breach of his or her contract of employment or may forfeit his or her remuneration in respect of the period during which he or she is engaged in the illegal strike. The catchword here is ILLEGAL. But a court of competent jurisdiction had ruled that POTAG strike is legal. So on what basis is the Sole Commissioner advising government not to pay POTAG. Or is he trying to cause the government to pay more judgement debts, the very thing his Commission is to prevent? LETS BE SERIOUS AS A COUNTRY
