Did I overstep my ground! I believe some parents and grandparents would agree with this statement when referring to mathematical issues in today’s school atmosphere. I was helping our granddaughter/niece with her homework which consisted of with I thought was ordinary standard mathematics. But as I looked deep into the mathematical problems I was amazed as to how much their curriculum has been modified from the times I was in my lower grades. Now we have Factors Prime/Composite/Multiples/Fractions/Divisibility. What the hell is going on? Unless you’re a young parent how in the world does a teacher think you are able to help the kids. I hope those with college degrees are aware of this newly devised mathematical process, if not get started on yourself taught lessons unless you’re a scholastic genius. As this is a small synopsis of what kids are dealing with, which in some cases will utilize the entire worksheet.
