Did India really get a humiliating defeat in 1962 ? No. That was a war purely fought by our land forces without air or naval assistance securing J& K, NEFA, Sikkim, Nepal, restricting Eastern Pakistan as well as maintainin law and order with the limited resources. Initially, Chinese seemed winning but soon they realized that the Indians were much braver than the Koreans. Infact, Indians had smelt the exact points of Chinese attack in 1957 and since then they had been operating agressive forward patrolling, intent military exercises and so, Chinese had to bear with a greater loss than Indians. They could only capture a few desolate hills but failed to occupy even a single town except Tejpur from where they were driven back by the Indians.
