Did a lot of reflecting on this post. What I try to do; - TopicsExpress

Did a lot of reflecting on this post. What I try to do; especially on Sundays....:o) On the giving or receiving end, I truly believe the truth does set you free even though sometimes the truth can offend or hurt. It is one of the few things in life which helps us learn and improve ourselves spiritually. What matters is the motive behind ones telling the truth and how we express it. If the intention is to be hurtful, condemning, ridiculing and/or just to spew ones anger, then one should avoid those people; if it is to teach or correct, we would be wise to embrace it and stay as close as possible to those people. The true test as to whether or not you are the type of person who is open to the truth? One, are people comfortable with giving you constructive criticism or advice? Two, when/if it is given do you get angry, hurt and/or defensive? Finally, are you the same type of person you were five to ten years ago? I can honestly say at this point in my life, Im 2/3 of the way there...........still working on it. I think my problem is being sure on ones motive. Some people in my life can tell me anything and I try hard to change things; a few others not so much but I do know I am not the same person I was and I am continually growing and changing for the better.
