Did another 5150 triathlon at Germiston Lake yesterday. What a strange day that turned out to be awesome... We started off with dismal weather. It was cold, cloudy and the wind was howling and making Germiston Lake feel like a sea. Apparently the swim was extra long, you know just so we can drink more of the lovely tasting water while being thrown around in the waves. Then coming out into transition to start our bike leg, the Sun started showing its sunny face, with a somewhat better mannered wind. The bike route was great apart from us being stopped at traffic intersections. Im not sure the traffic officials understood that this was a race:-(. Once we racked our bikes we did a double lap run from inside of the park to past Germiston Golf Course. It was a nice comfortable run and allowed the spectators to cheer on the athletes. All & all a good day in our own backyard at Germiston Lake park. The park is looking beautiful and the organisers and sponsors were great. Thanks to everyone, including all the supporters & volunteers, but most of all well done to each and every athlete who took part. You are what all of this is about. You push the human spirit, yourselves to evolve beyond what most consider possible and you are out there living it. To each of these athletes... YOU ROCK
