Did you know as of the 1st of January 2015 the laws have changed in Queensland in relation to the requirement of police to attend traffic accidents? Police were previously required to attend an accident scene if a vehicle required towing or if there was over $2,500 damage. The new laws do NOT require police to attend traffic accidents unless there is injuries/death, suspected drinking/drug driving involved, a person wont exchange details, or if there is a traffic hazard. Most accidents will be completed online by those involved at a later date. The new laws are attached, including what information is required to be provided at the scene of an accident.
