Did you know … if the Elbert County Commissioners fail to take - TopicsExpress

Did you know … if the Elbert County Commissioners fail to take action on Monday, Elbert County taxpayers will pay the price? If Elbert Memorial Hospital is forced to close, increased county expenses for Emergency Medical Services and loss of revenue would total an estimated $500,000 annually. With a potential loss of 200 jobs, Elbert County would likely see a huge decline in property values and the county’s tax base. Please share this information with your Facebook friends. The Elberton-Elbert County Hospital Authority has asked the Elbert County Board of Commissioners for $667,000 in funding for the specific purpose of subsidizing the charity care provided by Elbert Memorial Hospital to Elbert County citizens. This financial relief is needed to keep our hospital from closing, which would result in a devastating economic loss to the community and leave Elbert County residents without local access to healthcare services. To save our hospital, the County Commissioners must take action when they meet Monday, August 11. Please contact your Commissioner today and express your support for the hospital. Time is of the essence.
