Did you know our VA Medical Center manages a robust Green Environmental Management System (GEMS) that is committed to protecting and improving the environment? In 2005, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) made a determination in which VA facilities needed to take necessary action to integrate environmental accountability into its daily decision-making and long-term planning. Our GEMS works to find environmental solutions which protect the health of Veterans, employees, and the community. Our goals include reducing waste and toxicity, tracking performance, meeting the needs of the Veterans and the community, reducing costs to the taxpayer, and providing a safe and respectful health care facility.
