Did you know that the diamond is actually the least rare gem in - TopicsExpress

Did you know that the diamond is actually the least rare gem in the world. Not only the world, even the Galaxy. There are more diamonds than any other gem on earth. They actually have less shine and brilliance than many others. The only reason they are even thought to be rare is because most of the diamond market over the last 100 years or so has been almost solely monopolized by literally one company. Debeers. Debeers has stocked piled rough diamonds for over a century and essentially set the market price for them and only release a certain amount based on sales every year. Essentially they have millions upon millions of uncut, completely not rare diamonds in a warehouse in London. Before 100 years ago, engagement rings would have ruby, or sapphires in them because really nobody cared about giving a diamond to anyone. Its just white. And literally not that rare. Recently in the last 20 years the Russian, Australian and Canadian governments have discovered and refused to sell their diamond mines to Debeers. Enraging them essentially. Diamonds should see a continual fall in pricing over time as the market becomes less monopolized. Tho, Debeers still controls about 75-80% of the diamond market. Debeers has over the years has essentially used murder, kidnapping and general organized world crime to keep its strangle hold on the market. They are 100% the epitome of an evil corporate company. Your diamond on your wifes hand is not actually worth anything. Its as rare as a flat screen tv and you paid probably 3000% of its actual value. Its one of the greatest marketing scams of all time. And its time to stop letting billionaire companies lie to you and the public about the value of its product. If you wanna get a special engagement ring or special earrings for your wife, husband or valuable friend buy any other gem than a boring diamond. Dusty West out!
