Did you know we named Louie after Lou Gehrig? The day we got him, we were told he may have distemper when we showed up with him at the emergency vet. We decided in that moment that we would give him a strong name and one that symbolized our plan for him. Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of this Earth, - Lou Gehrig We decided Louie was going to be the luckiest pup no matter what his outcome was. He had us - awesome volunteers, rescuers who would go above an beyond, fosters who would love him, vets who would help him survive, and Facebook fans who would donate to help all of this become possible. Louie has had some good luck. While his pneumonia was treated pretty successfully, he still deals with his glaucoma. His eye pressure was down a little a todays appointment but still pretty high. The vet said in the future he may need that eye to be removed if we cant get the pressure dowb. All we know is that this pup for the first time, has a future.
