Did you know who started the Zahiri Madhab? (Ive a special love for this Madhab and Manhaj)? DAWOOD IBN ALI AL-ZAHIRI. He was from the heartland of Persia/Iran i.e. Isfahan (you cant be more Persian than a Isfahani). Persia in general and Isfahan in particular used to be the foretress of the Zahiris and Shafiis just 500 years ago before the Turkish-Azeri Safavid Sufi dynasty committed a genocide against most Persian Sunnis who (just like today) lived more in the centres of what is known today as Iran. There are virtually no native Zahiri Persians living in Iran but there is a large PURE Persian Sunni-Shafii community in south Iran, starting from Shiraz (one of the CAPITOLS of Shafiism) all the way down to the coastal areas of Iran. THOUSANDS of the GIANTS of the Shafii school emerged from Isfahan (and Shiraz), today it is a majority dumpster of shirk and superstition, wallahu Al-Mustaaan. Abu Sulayman Dawood Ibn Ali Ibn Khalaf AL-ISFAHANI. Initially he was a Shafii and wrote about the merits of Imam Shafii. He was born in Kufa (many Ajam i.e. Persians were born and are still born in what is known as Iraq) in the year 202 AH and he left this world in the year 270 AH in Baghdad. Among his teachers were Abi Thawr and Ishaaq Ibn Rahawiyeh (pure Persian name, he was Persian from his mothers side and he was the TEACHER of the famous Imam al-Bukhari who was a Persian from Bokhara, which was back then part of the Persian empire and today part of what is known as Uzbekistan). He studied also under a number of Imam al-Shafiis students. He rejected Qiyas (like Imam al-Sadiq who rebuked Abu Hanifah for that) and became known for that.
