Did you see the tv programme the other night about Loch Ness and the Monster? Well I have been looking through a 1950s guide book with suggestions for the tourist in the Highlands and in the section, What to See Around Inverness, it lists as second: Loch Ness Monster, and states: Reputed to be a highland fairy tale, or tourist attraction,nevertheless too many people of repute have claimed to have seen the Monster for it to be condemned out of hand.Local records show the monster as having been seen at various times during the last 100 years so our advice is to keep an eye on the loch and your camera ready. So there you go, that was the advice given in this rather informative 1950s tourist guide book. Just basically the same advice we give to our guests.Maybe 2015 will be the year that one of them rushes in excited with a photo of Nessie!
