Different between Conservatism and Liberalism conservation is belief in the rights of the individual and STRICT interpretation of the constitution. Liberalism believes that the greater good is more important than individual rights. that the constitution is an outdated document and needs to be changed to fit the changing times. When a product says apply liberally, it means pour it on till its gone. to conserve means to save. so they are very opposite views and ther is not much way to compromise. (you cannot shoot down half of an airplane) Almost anything else that can be said about them is from the viewpoint of one or the other. and therefore is suspect of prejudice. Much of what is bantered about concerning the two political ideologies mixes another influence in. for example each accuses the other of racism. racism is racism and has very little to do with being liberal or conservative. Although a statement such as all blacks are disadvantaged and therefore need our help is not racist in liberal eyes, after all, they are offering help. to a conservative, as soon as you said all, you crossed the line.
