Dignitaries from around the world have attended a service in Glasgow commemorating the centenary of Britains declaration of war on Germany, one of a number of events taking place throughout the UK and Europe. On August 4, 1914, Britain declared war on Germany, prompting a four-year global battle that killed more than 9 million people and permanently altered the worlds political landscape.
