Dinner Day 199 FAITH IS… Utilizing suspicion positively… “Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” – ROMANS 14:19 What will you do with that negative emotion – suspicion? Suspicion is one of the more unreliable forms of mental activity and one of the more difficult mental habits to uproot once it has established its malignant tentacles in the mind! Suspicion is a pregnant demon, giving birth to fear, jealousy, depression and anger! You must check negative suspicion! It can ruin you! Suspect that others think negatively about you, and they will! If you think people don’t love you, you will freeze up, withdraw, and actively sow the seeds of alienation! Suspicion can easily become a self-generating, self-propagating, self-fulfilling prophecy. A possibility-thinking faith believes that we can turn negatives into positives! Can we apply this to suspicion? Yes, faith can turn this negative mental activity, called suspicion, into positive mental activity. Turn paranoia inside out! Reverse your suspicions! Try practicing positive suspicion. Here’s how: ® I suspect that somebody is going to give me a boost ® I suspect that people I don’t even know are defending me behind my back. ® I suspect that people will not condemn me for my faults. In fact, they will love me more once they see I’m imperfect just as they are. ® I suspect somebody is going to support me. And faith tells me that “somebody” is Jesus Christ. Yes, turn suspicion, an expression of human imagination, into a positive mental force. Believe that the best will happen, not the worst. Before you know it, you will expect a miracle and you’ll get one! SOURCE: TOUGH MINDED FAITH FOR TENDER HEARTED PEOPLE (DAY 199); BY ROBERT H. SCHULLER Have a lovely night Rest…
