Dipa Shah Enjoys Bi-Partisan Support in Race for Hillsborough School Board (Tampa, FL) – Dipa Shah is enjoying bi-partisan support in her candidacy for the Hillsborough School Board. Every day she is adding to her list of supporters throughout Hillsborough County, regardless of party affiliation, because of her consistent message about improving our schools. In addition to endorsements she has received from State Senators Tom Lee and Jeff Brandes; State Representatives Jake Raburn, Dan Raulerson, Ross Spano, and Dana Young and Mayor Rick Lott; Dipa Shah has also received support from former Hillsborough County Commissioner and Tampa City Council member Rev. Tom Scott; former Tampa City Council member Mary Alvarez; Tampa attorneys Delano Stewart and Lance Scriven, former school board member Dr. Jack Lamb; businessman Joe Capitano, Sr.; the Hillsborough School Employees Federation (HSEF); the Millwrights Local 1000; Ironworkers Local 397; Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 754; Hillsborough County Medical Association; United Christians of Florida; and the endorsement of two local newspapers The Tampa Tribune and The Florida Sentinel-Bulletin. Dipa Shah is a Brandon business owner and business attorney running for the Hillsborough School Board, District 6, which is a countywide seat. She is married to a local physician and they have two children who attend public schools in Hillsborough County. She is the current chair of the Williams Middle Magnet School Advisory Council, as well as a member of the Williams Middle Magnet School PTSA and Strawberry Crest High School PTSA. She is a former member of the Macfarlane Park Elementary PTA and Macfarlane Park School Advisory Council. Shah is a member of the Brandon Bar Association, Hillsborough County Association of Women Lawyers and the South Asian Bar Association. She is a member of the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, Fishhawk Chamber of Commerce (Education Committee), Riverview Chamber of Commerce, Indo US Chamber of Commerce, and the Carrollwood Area Business Association. Dipa Shah is a member of the Leadership Brandon Class of 2013 and the Leadership Tampa Bay Class of 2014. She has been the manager of a competitive soccer team for four years; the West Florida Flames, formerly the Brandon Area Youth Soccer League (BAYSL) and a past member of the board of BAYSL Dipa Shah is the vice president of the Dovewood Homeowners Association and a volunteer for Project Starfish (CURE).
