Discovery of human skulls Thoroughprobe demanded IMPHAL, Jan 15 : Demanding prompt and thorough investigation into the discovery of eight human skulls and a number of skeletal remains from the erstwhile Tombisana High School campus, a protestdemonstration was staged today at Singjamei Wangma, Pebiya Pandit Leikai.Notably, Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai is the native village of Thokchom Lokendro who disappeared without any trace after he was pulled up by troops 15thJammu and Kashmir Rifles on September 23, 1980.The protest demonstration supported by the Committee on Mass Grave at Tombisana High School was jointly organised by the Families of Involuntarily Disappeared Association, Manipur (FIDAM), Human Rights Initiative (HRI) andthe Pebiya Pandit Apunba Meira Paibi.Speaking to media persons at the protest site, Thokchom Lokendro’s younger brother Mangoljao said that the fate of his brother still remains uncertain even though his dead body represented by a Pangong tree and coconut had been cremated.“It is our sincere wish that the recent discovery of human skulls and skeletal remains from the erstwhile Tombisana High School campus is properly investigated”, Mangoljao said.The protesters also demanded repeal of AFSPA from Manipur and enforcement of international humanitarian laws.
