District 202 friends - did you receive the Core newsletter yesterday and read about Senate Bill 16? It says in a nutshell, it would take education funds from districts that have more local property wealth and REDISTRIBUTE those funds to other districts that lack local property wealth and therefore have to rely more on state funding. Doesnt anyone have a problem with redistributing our money to other areas? I pay over $8,100 a year in taxes with the majority going to schools and, yet again, people want to redistribute our money to other areas that, for whatever reason, dont have as high values in their local property? That doesnt seem fair. You can go to [email protected] to tell them you agree or disagree with Senate Bill 16. I for one am opposed to it because Im SO tired of IL redistributing money the way they see fit - from people that work hard/smart to people that dont.
