District Adm holds Women Electoral Conference at Katra REASI, Nov 01: District Administration organized major electoral conference at Katra which was aimed at increasing the level of awareness among women and facilitate them to participate in the forthcoming elections in an ethical and informed way. More than 600 females attended the conference which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Reasi (District Election Officer) Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt. Nodal Officer SVEEP-Pritam Thappa appealed the participants to actively participate in the forthcoming elections and exercise their democratic right in an ethical and inducement-free manner and hoped that with overwhelming response shown by women in SVEEP campaign through their active participation it will set new records this time and gender gap will be bridged. He appealed the women to be torch bearers of the electoral participation and act as lead stake-holders. A pledge of electoral participation was also administered to all the participants. He further asked the electors to take pride in electoral participation and cherish this greatest democratic right given by the constitution. The participants turned out in larger number travelling from far off places to attend the electoral conference which was 2nd major conference held by the district administration apart from a large number of functions organised at various levels in last few months of SVEEP campaign.
