District Elocution Competition of Students,1971 I was selected as a competitor from class X of MUNICIPAL hIGH sCHOOL .sAME DAY AashIBAD fILM WITH ASHOK kUMAR WAS RELEASED AT lAXMI tALKIES.tO HEAR dADA mANI SINGING IN THE BLOCK BUSTER WAS AN obsession.My turn for Elocution came at THIRD SLOT.Idelivered myself with justice regarding role of discipline and hyegine and it was understood from the applause,which throbbed my ears like sweet Bansuri Badan of A REPUTED aRTIST.tHE COMPETITION WAS EVER.The Judges declared me second in three selected.My success was not material for me.Cash prize of Rs.10/ was vital item ,that could open the door for AgREAT MATINEE sHOW AT LAXMI TALKIES with 2 glasses of Mania LASSI,FAMOUS AT Puri.To my happiness,cash of RS.10/ was disbursede after the decaration of result.I ,immediately rushed home with my bicycle,took my lunch and without wasting a minute sped for Laxmi Talkies.It was enjoyed in box circle,the costliest seat.mANIA lassi was taken during Interval. That evening,I heard my eldest brother talking about my since developed irresponsibilities at school and home. Next day after Prayer class,I was called to Head SIR cabin.Iwas systematically brain fed and the cane of Head SIR,WHICH THRASHES STUDENTS VERY OCCASIONALLY FOR OUR GUIDANCE,WAS VIOLENT FOR LESS THAN TEN TIMES. I was repenting ,as in the Meeting in the evening ,when certificate was HAVE BEEN distributed and I was not there but Head Sir was present .How embarassed,he must have felt. — at Puri Town Hall,Kacheri Area.
