Dive In “Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list.” Matthew 22:37 (The Message) While riding in the car with a dear friend, we began talking about how it’s as if we have stood on the outside of the pool in our walk with the Lord –never really diving into a life of complete and total trust in God. Whether it was wrong thinking, feelings of condemnation, or just plain old fear, we had spent our lives never fully letting go and taking the leap like God beckons us to. So we determined that we would dive in! Praise God for friends that don’t mind holding your hand and taking a leap of faith with you. To “dive in” means that because you know God loves you, you know that you can trust that He will never harm you, will always take care of you, will empower you, and will never disappoint or abandon you. It takes a huge step of faith especially if all you’ve known is hurt and disappointment by others in your life. The more you come to understand how much God loves you, the closer you’ll be drawn to the edge of the pool. There’s so much He has waiting for those that trust Him completely with their life, with their relationships, and with their issues. However, He won’t force you to take the leap. He won’t pull you in or push you. You’re going to have to jump in! If you have ever felt like your life is lacking fulfillment, and as if it’s filled with all of the mechanics of spirituality with no real fire in your heart, it’s time you dive in. No more being a bystander, or a wallflower, or a spectator in your walk with God. It’s time you dive in, trust God like never before and take Him at His word. Prayer: Father God, thank You for helping me dive in! I’m not waiting another day! I let go of all fear, doubt, and all of the pain of my past. I bind the devil in the name of Jesus! I rebuke all feelings of condemnation and fear. I let it all go, and I dive into a deeper trust in You Lord. There’s no turning back now. Thank You for giving me the courage to take the leap. I pray You help others do the same so they can see how beautiful and how fulfilling it is to live a life of trust in You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
