Division of Deen and Dunya is a false dichotomy - an influence of the Christian Church vs. State theory. In Islam, ALL actions are governed by the Shariah, whether it is our eating / drinking or praying / fasting. This Deen/Dunya false dichotomy is the single most root cause of all the modern day arguments and confusions relating to the concept of Bidah. There is no such thing as Bidah Loghaviah and Shariah - this false division itself is a Bidah. The only division is the Bidah Hasanah (good) and Sayyiah (bad) which is proven from Sahih Muslim Hadeeth #6466 & #6468 man sanna fil Islami sunnatan hasanatan falahu ajruha ... (whoever starts in Islam a new good practice will be rewarded for it ...) When this Hadeeth is studied together with the Kullu Bidatin Dalalah Hadeeth then the Hasanah and Sayyiah division is clear which is what traditional muqaddimeen scholars have written profusely about. #AhleSunnahWalJamaah
