Divisions on the ground as various student formations has disadvantaged us as students in terms of exerting more pressure and force on the institution,we become white elephants when we assume Student governance office whether we like it or not,its a hard hitting reality!,reason being the institution continues to thrive on our differences on the ground on petty issues of which diverts our focus on key issues. There is no prestige on having a record of serving on the CSRC that was ineffective although it exhausted all avenues on its reach!,yes we will contest each-other again these year having noble promises to the student populace it would symbolises democracy its best, but we should ask ourselves is our aim to just go beyond the elections get the leadership bursaries and again have another elections of which the in-coming leadership would still be facing the same problems faced by the previous CSRCs?.I think from my personal capacity the CSRC manouvrability is on a tight grip as a result it causes it to be ineffective....what this cries out fellow noble sons and daughters is unity in action but the latter is a pipe dream if populist politics, clashes of personalities and personal glory is the order of the day of which diverts the focus on the main cause and struggle. Our campus student governance(CSRC) is micro-managed and we would never be on par with other campuses on many fronts DUE TO THE SAD LATTER..We must start to reflect on the events of 2008, as they vividly show the character of the student formations of the time as they set their differences and personal glory AMBITIONS aside for the cause and betterment of this precious institution that it owes its formation to the community of mafikeng.REMEMBER AFRIKA, noble sons and daughters of the soil. Izwe Lethu! Remember our struggle is homogenous by virtue we carrying that student card !#
